In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee charge was pressed against 22 year-old young man for murder of the resident of Gyumri Stepan Markosyan.
 

It was earlier informed that on May 5 at about 10:40 a call was received from ambulance station informing that there was a body in one of the houses of Ghorghanyan Street, Gyumri. The body of the resident of the mentioned house, Stepan Markosyan, born in 1940, with cut-pierced injuries on the chest was found at the site.
 

In the result of investigatory and operative-searching measures taken in the framework of the criminal case initiated on the incident the person having committed the apparent crime was identified, the motive was found.
 

Particularly, through preliminary investigation it was grounded that on May 5, 2017 at about 05:00 the 22 year-old resident of Gyumri, being under the influence of alcohol, with the purpose of taking revenge for disagreement over domestic affairs they had had before, went to S. Markosyan’s house, entered the bedroom and stabbed S. Markosyan, who had just woken up, on the left part of his chest, head and neck for numerous times. The household died of bodily injuries he had sustained.
 

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against 22 year-old young man according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.
 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, measures are taken to provide the objective, complete and comprehensive investigation of all circumstances of the case.
