Persons, who had Attempted to Sell Narcotic Drugs in Particularly Large Amount, Detained
In the result of large-scale procedural and evidentiary actions conducted in the course of preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding investigated in the Department for Investigation of Crimes on Human Trafficking, against Sexual Immunity of Juveniles and Illegal Turnover of Drugs of General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee, it was found out that 2 foreign citizens had smuggled narcotic drugs in particularly large amount – 1.8 kg “Marijuana” to the RA.
Then with the intent to sell, a number of RA and foreign citizens attempted to procure packages of the mentioned drug. However, they were arrested by the police officers.
Public criminal prosecution was initiated against 5 persons according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 44-393 and the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 46-399 of RA Criminal Code, against 1 person according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 44-393, the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 46-399 and the Part 1 of the Article 396 of RA Criminal Code.
Detention was applied as a pretrial measure against them.
Public criminal prosecution was initiated against the two foreign citizens, who had organized the transportation of narcotic drug of “Marijuana” type in particularly large amount, according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 393, and the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 399 of RA Criminal Code.
Detention was selected as a pretrial measure against them, and search was declared.
