In Cases of Illegal Subsoil Use, to Exclude the Continued Occurrence of Similar Cases in the Same Place in the Future; Chairman of the Investigative Committee Held Meeting in Ararat Regional Investigative Department

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia Artur Poghosyan held a meeting in Ararat Regional Investigative Department. Arman Galstyan, Head of General Department on Special Assignments, Tigran Shokhoyan, Head of Ararat Regional Investigative Department, Vardan Poghosyan, prosecutor of the region, heads of the regional structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Security Service, investigators of the regional investigative department were present at the meeting.
Tigran Shokhoyan presented the work carried out by Ararat Regional Investigative Department in 2024.
In 2024 5903 criminal proceedings were investigated in Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, 1058 of which had been transferred from 2023. 869 criminal proceedings were transferred to January, 2025, 98 of which had been investigated for more than a year.
Out of 5903 criminal proceedings 5034 were resolved, 3945 of which had a procedural outcome.
Out of 3945 criminal proceedings 1030 on 1069 people, with the bill of indictment, 1 with a final act were sent to court, 2914 were terminated, 2529 on rehabilitative, 385 on non-rehabilitative base. 348 criminal proceedings were combined, 168 were sent to other structures, 573 were deactivated.
In the reporting period the average workload of one investigator has made 190 criminal proceedings.
In 2024 4801 reports on apparent crime have been received in the regional investigative department on 4375 of which a criminal proceeding was initiated.
The damage caused by the crime within the criminal proceedings which had been sent to court, terminated on non-rehabilitative base, has made 209 million 704 thousand AMD, 192 million 708 thousand AMD of which has been recovered.
Within criminal proceedings under investigation in 2024 59 million 998 thousand AMD of the damage caused to the state has been recovered.
In the reporting period 30 criminal proceedings on crimes committed by minors were investigated, 3 of which with the bill of indictment were sent to court, 14 were terminated, 3 were combined, and 10 were transferred to January, 2025.
In the same period 54 criminal proceedings on crimes committed against minors were investigated, 1 of which was sent to court, 23 were terminated, 2 were registered as ones within which necessary procedural and evidentiary actions were conducted, 10 were combined, 18 were transferred to January, 2025.
In 2024 21 criminal proceedings were investigated on corruption-related crimes, 1 of which was sent to court, 1 was terminated on non-rehabilitative base, 1 was deactivated, 2 were combined, 2 were sent to other structure, 14 were transferred to the first term of 2025.
During the meeting the Chairman of the Investigative Committee assigned to show consistency in ensuring proper and comprehensive preliminary investigation within criminal proceedings initiated on cases of illegal subsoil use recorded in the region, and rescovering the damage caused to the state.
Artur Poghosyan instructed to exclude the continued occurrence of cases of illegal subsoil use in the same place in the future by applying the permissible criminal procedural tools.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee also referred to the crimes committed by minors or against them, and instructed to submit motions to the competent bodies.
