Preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding initiated on the case of the fatal car accident that happened in 2022 on the hill called “Aghkilisa” in Ararat region, was completed in General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee. 

During the preliminary investigation apparent factual data were obtained on the allegation that on May 8, 2022 the car driver, while driving on the section called “Aghkilisa”, did not take into account the shortcomings and unevenness of the terrain adjacent to the road, choosing a driving mode that did not ensure full control of the vehicle he was driving, while driving up the hill, he lost control of the car and it overturned. 

As a result of the accident, the passenger who was in the mentioned car died. 

Public criminal prosecution was initiated against the driver according to the Part 2 of the Article 342 of RA Criminal Code. 

The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor for approval and referral to court.
