Crimes Committed against Minors: 2025
In 2025 1.529 criminal proceedings related to crimes committed against minors were investigated in the RA Investigative Committee
(1.374 in 2024), 483 of which had been transferred from 2024.
In the reporting period 135 of 1.529 criminal proceedings on 145 people with the bill of indictment were sent to court (115 proceedings on 128 people in 2024), 1 was completed with a final act and was sent to court (2 in 2024), 670 were terminated (558 in 2024), 572 of which on rehabilitative (479 in 2024), and 98 on non-rehabilitative (79 in 2024) base, 72 were combined (59 in 2024), 28 were sent to another structure (20 in 2024), 78 were registered as ones within which procedural and evidentiary actions were completed (178 in 2024), 545 criminal proceedings were transferred to 2026 (442 in 2024).
4 of 132 proceedings sent to court were investigated on murder, 1 - on infanticide by a mother, 7 – on inflicting heavy damage to health, 2 – on inflicting damage of medium gravity to health, 3 – on inflicting light damage to health, 5 – on kidnapping, 2 – on mental impact, 23 – on physical impact, 35 – against sexual freedom, 1 – on inciting a minor to commit a crime or making him/her participate in it, 1 – on inducing a child to pornography or the production or distribution of pornographic materials or objects or involving him/her in these actions, 1 – on involving a child in committing antisocial acts, 1 – on obstructing visitation between a parent or other close relative and a child, 2 - on failure to fulfill or improperly fulfill the duty of raising or caring for a child, 8 – on avoiding paying alimony, and 32 – on other crimes.
49 of 157 victims within the proceedings sent to court were up to 12, 47 – between 13 and 14, 42 – between 15 and 16, 19 – between 17 and 18.
