38 Year-Old Man Arrested on Suspicion of Using Violence against Police Officers
On 31 August, 2020 a police officer submitted a report informing that on the same day at about 16:15 in the park in front of Ejmiatsin Municipality a citizen argued with him for not wearing a mask, showed aggressive behavior, refused to present his ID card after which hit him with a hand causing physical pain. The citizen used violence against another police officer as well pulling him and causing bodily injury.
A criminal case was initiated in Vagharshapat Police Division according to the Part 1 of the Article 316 (violence against a representative of authorities) of RA Criminal Code which was sent to Vagharshapat Investigative Division of Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee for conduction of preliminary investigation. 3 policemen were found the injured party.
38 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of using violence against police officers.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
