43 Year-Old Resident of Lori Arrested on Suspicion of Committing Banditry by Using Knife
A criminal case was initiated in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on banditry by using a knife against 62 year-old woman. Former son-in-law was arrested on suspicion of committing banditry.
Pursuant to initial data, on March 20, 2019 at about 17:00 the resident of Lori province, born in 1976, in one of the houses of Vanadzor town approached the mother of his former wife, hit her and pushed to the ground. Then he pulled her and demanded to open the door of the apartment in the same house which belonged to the woman, born in 1957. The latter resisted.
43 year-old man hit the woman's head to walls, threatened with a knife and taking the apartment key from her bag opened the door, pulled the woman into the apartment where he hit her with hands and feet, as well as stabbed her on different parts of her body. Then threatening with a knife he demanded golden jewelry and money, he also seized her golden earrings and necklace with a pendant.
The man was neutralized by the police operative group that had arrived on the neighbors' call, 62 year-old woman with bodily injuries was taken to «Vanadzor Medical Center» CJSC.
On March 20, 2019 a criminal case was initiated in RA IC Lori Regional Investigative Department according to the Points 3 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 of RA Criminal Code. By the decision of the department head an investigatory group was formed. 62 year-old woman was found the injured party and questioned.
A number of investigatory actions were conducted – inspection of the scene, during which the golden jewelry, blood-like traces as well as the knife which was the crime tool were found, samples were taken, forensic medical examination was commissioned.
On March 20, 2019 the resident of Lori province, born in 1976, was arrested on suspicion of committing the mentioned crime.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.
