A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Arabkir Investigative Division of the RA Investigative Committee on the base of Zaruhi Hovhannisyan’s report on threatening to kill her by one of the users of “facebook” social network.

On January 5, 2016 Z. Hovhannisyan submitted a written report to General Department of Struggle against organized crime of the RA Police informing that the user of “facebook” social network Andre Makarov threatened to kill her through messages on the same site. 

It was found that Andre Makarov was a resident of Yerevan, Andranik Avetisyan who on January 4, 2016 offended the user of “Facebook” Zaruhi Hovhannisyan through the same social network concealing his identity, threatened to kill the latter then blocked his page.

In the result of the mentioned actions Zaruhi Hovhannisyan got in panic and perceived A. Avetisyan’s threats as real, so the next day she submitted a written report.

The prepared materials were received in Arabkir Investigative Division.

Considering that in the materials there are crime features envisaged by the Part 1 of the Article 137 of RA Criminal Code and that Z. Hovhannisyan insisted on her complaint, on January 15 a criminal case was initiated in Arabkir Investigative Division of the RA Investigative Committee.

Preliminary investigation is conducted. Additional information on procedural decisions made on the results of investigation will be provided.
