A criminal case was initiated in Artik Investigative Division of Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder of 54 year-old woman, the suspect was arrested.
 

On September 3, 2016 at 09:50 a call was received from the head of Lusaghbyur community informing that a woman’s body was discovered in one of the houses of the village.
 

The investigatory-operative group immediately left for the site and found that the dead woman was Haykush Sargsyan born in 1962, traces of violence were found on her body.
 

On the same day a criminal case was initiated in Artik Investigative Division of Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code, necessary investigatory actions were conducted to find the circumstances of the case.
 

According to preliminary investigation data the woman lived with her step-son. They moved to the village of Lusaghbyur from Gyumri in August for cattle breeding. On the day of the incident she was at home with her son. Arguing over domestic affairs, the latter hit the woman on different parts of her body inflicting her bodily injuries incompatible with life.
 

The suspect was arrested and interrogated during which he gave detailed testimony on circumstances of the case and regretted.
 

In the framework of the criminal case a number of witnesses were interrogated, forensic medical examination was commissioned. It was checked whether the man was sober and according to alcohol screening protocol N 35 there was 0.74 mg alcohol in 1 l air he had exhaled.  Queries were sent to relevant medical facilities to find if the injured and the suspect suffered from mental illness.
 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
