A criminal case was initiated in the First garrison unit of Military General Investigation Department of RA Investigative Committee on the case of the death of the serviceman Davit Qoloyan.
 

On 21 December, 2014 a report was received informing that on the same day at about 10:15 at one of the military positions of the Unit N the serviceman Davit Qoloyan implementing his duties of observer of “alert” shift died of bodily injuries he had received in the result of the explosion of the grenade attached to him at the observatory of “alert” shift.
 

In accordance with the Article 180 of RA Criminal Procedure Code external examination of D. Qoloyan's body, as well as examination of the scene, the bullet-proof vest he was wearing at that time has been carried out.
 

The results of the examinations, as well as the explanations of the soldiers of the military position are a sufficient base to suppose that the grenade has exploded in the result of D. Qoloyan's actions.
 

By the materials prepared on the mentioned fact on 22, December, 2014 a criminal case was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 110 of RA Criminal Code.

Investigation is being implemented on all possible hypotheses. Preliminary investigation is under way. Measures are taken to provide the objective, complete and comprehensive investigation of the case. Forensic examination has been appointed.
