About 15 kg Narcotic Drugs Smuggled to the RA; 4 People Detained
In the course of preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding investigated in the Department for Investigation of Crimes on Human Trafficking, against Sexual Immunity of Juveniles and Illegal Turnover of Drugs of General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee apparent factual data were obtained on the allegation that the person being in the IRI transported by smuggling narcotic drugs in particularly large amount – 15 kg in total to the RA, a part of which was planned to sell at the territory of Armenia, and the other part in particularly large amount – 4.3 kg of “Marijuana” type, to transport by smuggling to Georgia though the RA territory.
In the course of preliminary investigation it was found out that G.A. and A.M. attempted to procure by smuggling 95.43 grams of narcotic drug of “Marijuana” type and 96,43 grams of “Methamphetamine” type out of the narcotic drugs smuggled to the RA, however on the way they were arrested by the police officers of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs.
On the same day A.K. and M.O., under unforeseen circumstances, could not cross the border with the narcotic drugs in particularly large amount – 4.3 kg of “Marijuana” type, planned to smuggle to Georgia through Armenia, as they were arrested.
Public criminal prosecution was initiated against A.K. and M.O. according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 44-393 and the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 43-399 of RA Criminal Code, against G.A. and A.M. according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 44-393 of RA Criminal Code.
Detention was applied as a pretrial measure against them.
The criminal proceeding on the part of 4 people was sent to the prosecutor with the bill of indictment.
Preliminary investigation on 9 people is ongoing.
