Banditry against 29 Year-Old Citizen of Czech Republic  Three Persons Arrested

Investigation is conducted in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out all circumstances of banditry committed against a foreigner – 29 year-old young woman. Three persons were arrested.

The female citizen of Czech Republic, born in 1990, submitted a report in the Police informing that on June 2, 2019 at about 18:30 a car approached her and the young men in the car offered her to take to the place she wanted, she agreed and got into the car. On the way at knife point the young men demanded the girl's mobile phone, money and valuable things. Being refused one of them took a photo camera out of the girl's bag, as well as money of several currencies out of her purse. Pursuant to the report one of the young men took a pepper spray out of the backpack and she, taking advantage of the situation, seized it and sprayed it into his eyes. The latter started to do irregular movements with a knife in his hand. As a result, he damaged the finger of the young woman. Then they pushed the girl out of the car and fled.  

A criminal case was initiated in Mashtots Division of the RA Police according to the Points 2 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 which was sent to the RA IC Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department and was received in the proceeding. The female citizen of Czech Republic was found the injured party and gave testimony.

In the result of necessary measures the persons having committed the alleged crime were identified; they are residents of Ashtarak town, of the same age, born in 1995.

A number of investigatory actions, including person's recognition were conducted. The three young men were arrested on suspicion of committing a crime envisaged by the Points 2 and 4 of the Part 1 of the Article 175 of RA Criminal Code.

Forensic medical examination was commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case, to personalize the actions of each of them and to give criminal legal assessment.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
