In the result of investigative and procedural actions conducted within the framework of the criminal proceeding initiated in the Investigative Division of Arabkir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of banditry committed in Yerevan against a foreigner were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified.

An RF citizen submitted a report informing that on October 17, 2024 at about 21:50, at the stairway of Cascade complex in Yerevan, an unknown person, threatening with an item similar to weapon, required his mobile phone and money. In reply to it, under the influence of fear, yielding to threats, he gave his mobile phone of “iPhone 13” model and money, after which the unknown person escaped.

A criminal proceeding was initiated according to the Point 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 252 of RA Criminal Code within the framework of which the RF citizen was found the victim and was questioned.

In the course of preliminary investigation inspection of the scene was carried out during which the victim pointed out the exact place where the incident took place.

In the result of operative-intelligence measures the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is 25 year-old resident of Armavir town.

The videos captured by the cameras available at the adjacent areas of the scene were confiscated, which were inspected with participation of the victim.

Public criminal prosecution was initiated against 25 year-old young man according to the Point 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 252 of RA Criminal Code.

A decision was made to arrest the latter the fulfillment of which was assigned to the relevant subdivision of the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
