Banditry Committed in Gyumri Disclosed; Charge Pressed against three Persons
On 21 November, 2020 at 23:40 a report was submitted in Mush Police Division by a resident of Gyumri informing that taking advantage of the circumstance that the door was open two masked persons entered the apartment, pulled his 73 year-old mother, pushed her to the ground, with an adhesive tape tied her and two neighbors that were in the apartment, stole money at knife-point and left.
A criminal case was initiated according to the Points 1, 3 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 (banditry) of RA Criminal Code.
In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions conducted during preliminary investigation a number of circumstances were found out, the persons having committed the alleged crime as well as those having supported them were identified.
Data were obtained that the banditry had been committed by 37 and 26 year-old residents of Gyumri who were supported by the old woman’s neighbors.
In the result of taken measures 26 year-old young man was found.
On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against him according to the Points 1, 3 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 (banditry) of RA Criminal Code and detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him. Charge was pressed against the neighbors according to the Points 1, 3 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 38-175 (support to banditry) of RA Criminal Code. They gave self-incriminating testimony. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against them.
Measures are taken to find the fourth person having committed the alleged crime – 37 year-old man, find and bring him to the investigative body.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
