Investigative and procedural actions are conducted within the criminal proceeding investigated in Sisian Investigative Division of Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out all circumstances of illegal turnover of narcotic drugs smuggled in the RA from the IRI.
 

In order to realize operational data received on July 15, 2023 in Syunik Regional Department of the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs from the RA National Security Service, on the same day at about 04:30 with joint efforts of the officers of Syunik Regional Department of the RA NSS, as well as Syunik Regional Department and Sisian Division of the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs, while driving from Meghri to Yerevan the cars of “Opel Astra 1.6” and “Mercedes Benz S430” make were stopped on the 200^th km of the road. The driver of the car of “Opel Astra 1.6” make, not obeying the legal requirement of the police officer to stop the transport means, attempting to escape, crashed into the car of “Toyota Corolla” make fixed to the latter. As a result, one of the police officers with bodily injuries was taken to medical center, the passenger of the car of “Opel Astra 1.6” make received a physical injury in the form of a scratch on his head. There were three bundles with a sharp unique smell characteristic of drug and packed in polyethylene and aluminum cardboard, in the mentioned car of “Opel Astra 1.6” make in a clearly visible place.
 

A criminal proceeding was initiated with regard to the case according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 393 and the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 399 of RA Criminal Code. The mentioned three men were arrested on the base of reasonable suspicion of committing the crime.
 

In the result of the search conducted during preliminary investigation in the car of «Opel Astra 1.6» make driven by the resident of Armavir, masses similar to 22.31 kg of “Marijuana”, 237,84g of “Methamphetamine”, 0,985kg of “Cannabis” types of narcotic drugs,  0.69g of white pill with "Bs" written on it, 2 glass pipes were found and taken.
 

According to the conclusion of the forensic substance expertise, white powdery crystalline mass in a transparent polyethylene package with a total weight of 237.47 grams is "Methamphetamine", brown vegetal mass with a unique smell in a transparent polyethylene package with a total weight of 981.43 grams is “Cannabis”. Research on the masses in the rest of the presented packages is ongoing.
 

In the course of preliminary investigation a writ was received from Sisian Division of the Police of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs informing that the mentioned three men had been involved in illegal turnover of narcotic drugs smuggled in the RA from the IRI. In the result of operative-intelligence measures it was found out that the mentioned crime had been organized by 46 year-old man. The latter, reaching prior agreement with the group members, assumed the responsibility of distracting the attention of law enforcement officers so as the car of “Opel” make loaded with drugs could get from Meghri to Yerevan without obstacles.
 

On the base of the obtained facts charge was pressed against the mentioned three men according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 393 of RA Criminal Code. A motion was submitted to court to choose detention as a pretrial measure against them.
 

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
