On June 10, 2024 a report was received from a physical person in the Police Division of the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs informing that on the same day, at night an unknown person had attacked the Jewish religious center located in Nar-Dos Street of Yerevan, hit with a stone and broke the window glass of the mentioned center, causing pecuniary damage.

After receiving the materials prepared related to the report the Police was assigned by the RA IC Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department to take appropriate measures to find out the real circumstances, the motive of the case, to identify the person having committed the alleged crime.

In the result of operative-intelligence measures it was found out that the incident occurred on June 10 at 01:43, the window glass of the office of Jewish religious center was hit with a stone and broken by 35 year-old resident of Artashat who then fled.

The mentioned arrested person was also presented to the investigative body by the Police.

With regard to the case a criminal proceeding was initiated in the RA IC Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 146 of RA Criminal Code.

35 year-old man gave self-incriminating testimony, necessary investigative actions with his participation were conducted. Inspection of the scene was conducted during which the window of the Jewish religious organization located at 23 Nar-Dos was found broken, and two stones were found and taken from the ground. The cameras located at the area were confiscated and the content sections related to the incident were examined.

Through investigation it was found out that the motive for hitting the window of the religious facility, causing pecuniary damage by the mentioned person was national, ethnic enmity.

On June 17, 2024 a motion was submitted to the prosecutor to initiate a public criminal prosecution against 35 year-old man according to the Article 146 of RA Criminal Code. It was sufficed and charge was pressed against the latter.

A motion was submitted to court to select detention as a pretrial measure against him. It was rejected and absence ban was selected as a pretrial measure against him.
