Charge Pressed against 24 Year-Old Young Man for Swindling under Pretext of Providing Citizens with Loans
In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions of great volume conducted in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of swindling under the pretext of providing citizens with loans committed by 24 year-old young man were found out. Charge was pressed against the latter.
Pursuant to data obtained through investigation, 24 year-old young man in a group, as well as alone, for the purpose of swindling somebody else's property, from February to April, 2020 posted ads on fast loans on «Facebook» social site and several citizens getting in touch with him via «facebook» expressed a desire to take loans.
The young man, introducing himself as an employee of credit organization, demanded from citizens and received their passport data which he online filled in the site of credit organization, applied for loans which were confirmed. In order to give the citizens the loan amounts the young man met them and gave them the loan amounts. Then under the pretext to transfer back to the credit organization account the latter transferred the amounts through payment terminal to his e-wallet then left under several pretexts thus swindling the mentioned amounts by cheating and gaining confidence and causing citizens pecuniary damage in large and significant amount.
On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 24 year-old young man according to the Part 1 of the Article 178 (swindling), the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 178 and the Points 1 and 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 178 of RA Criminal Code. The latter was detained.
Measures are taken to find out the frame of those involved in swindling, to personalize their actions and to give criminal-legal assessment.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
