In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of rape attempt were found out. Charge was pressed against 28 year-old resident of Shirak.

On October 29, 2018 at 14:20 a call was received from a resident of Shirak province, born in 1990, informing that on the same day at about 8:30 a young man entered the apartment, closed her mouth with hands, hit her head to the wall, took her to the bedroom and attempted to rape.

A criminal case was initiated in Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-138 of RA Criminal Code. The young woman was found the injured party and was questioned. Inspection of the scene was conducted.

In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions conducted within the criminal case the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Shirak province, born in 1990.

Forensic medical examination was commissioned to find out circumstances significant for the criminal case. Person's recognition and confrontation were conducted.

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against 28 year-old young man according to the Point 7 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-138 of RA Criminal Code.

The investigator submitted a motion to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against 28 year-old man.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find out all circumstances, to provide the objective, complete and comprehensive investigation.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
