In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Department of Investigation of Crimes against Humanity of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of the armed incident that took place in Karbi community are being found; charge was pressed against 4 people.

On May 27, 2018 at about 22:30 at the area near municipality building in the community of Karbi of Aragatsotn region a row erupted between a group of people which turned into brawl. During the incident a firearm, cutting-piercing item were used. As a result, 6 people sustained bodily injuries of different gravities; 2 of them – heavy, 2 – medium, 2 – light damages.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Aragatsotn Regional Investigative Department according to the Points 1, 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104, the Part 1 of the Article 112, the Part 1 of the Article 235 and the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code preliminary investigation of which went on in the Department of Investigation of Crimes against Humanity of General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases.

In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions of great volume actual data were obtained on the motive of argument, people involved actions of which are personalized.

Particularly, 4 people, who had used a firearm, a knife, had apparently committed hooliganism with items used as a weapon, were identified. Charge was pressed against one person according to the Points 1, 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104, the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. In the result of investigatory action conducted with the latter’s participation the pistol which was the crime tool was found at the area of the cemetery of Ohanavan village and confiscated.

Charge was pressed against the other person according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 and the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code, against two more people according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was used as a pretrial measure against 3 out of 4 defendants.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, necessary investigatory and operative-searching measures are taken to find every person involved and to give appropriate criminal legal assessment to the actions of each of them.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
