In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on 50 year-old man’s stabbing charge was pressed against the latter’s cousin.

As it was already informed, on November 4, 2018 at about 10:05 a call was received in Hrazdan Division of the Police from «Hrazdan» medical center informing that a resident of Hrazdan, born in 1967, with cut-pierced wounds was taken to medical center.

On November 4, 2018 a criminal case was initiated in Hrazdan Division of the RA Police according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code which on the same day was received in the proceeding of the RA IC Kotayk Regional Investigative Department. 50 year-old man was found the injured party.

In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions conducted within the criminal case a number of circumstances, the motive, the scene were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is the cousin of the injured, a resident of the same town, born in 1977.

Pursuant to preliminary investigation data, on November 3, 2018 during telephone conversation the latter argued with the injured. The argument went on the next day in the yard during which he stabbed his cousin on the abdomen and fled.

During preliminary investigation the person having committed the alleged crime surrendered himself to the investigative body, presented the knife which was the crime tool and gave testimony. Inspection of the scene was conducted with his participation and he pointed out the scene where he had caused bodily injury to his cousin. Confrontation was conducted, a number of people were questioned.

The relevant subdivision of the Police was tasked to take measures to find witnesses, to find out if there are any cameras nearby the scene, as well as to find the person who had taken the injured to medical center.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against the man, born in 1977, according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.
