In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on 53 year-old man’s death charge was pressed against 3 people; they were detained.

It was earlier informed that near the house 1 of Shahumyan Str. of Kajaran town there was a body of the resident of the same town, born in 1965, with traces of violence.

In the result of necessary measures taken in the framework of the criminal case initiated in the RA IC Syunik Regional Investigative Department according to the Point 14 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code a number of circumstances significant for the criminal case, the motive were found, the people having committed the alleged crime were identified; they are residents of Syunik, born in 1995, 1974 and 1984 and are relatives.

Particularly, through preliminary investigation sufficient actual data were obtained on the allegation that on the day of the incident on February 17 at about 21:00 the resident of Syunik, born in 1995, together with his two relatives went to the residence of the victim – his uncle to speak about personal matters. They called the man out and left in the direction of Kapan town in a taxi.

They argued at the beginning of Kajaran-Kapan road at the area of not operating petrol station during which the young man with his two relatives used violence against his uncle hitting him numerous times on different parts of his body.

Then 53 year-old man was taken to the area of house 1 of Shahumyan Str. of Kajaran town where the latter died of the injuries he had sustained.

After the incident the three residents of Syunik attempted to cross the RA state border however they were apprehended by the employees of law enforcement bodies.


On the base of the sufficient evidence charge was pressed against three residents of Syunik region according to the Points 6 and 14 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code and detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against them.

Preliminary investigation is underway, measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the criminal case.
