Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on 25 year-old young man’s murder after wedding party was completed in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee; charge was pressed against 21 year-old young man.

On September 4, 2017 at 01:20 a call was received informing that the resident of Yerevan Stepan Minasyan, born in 1992, with cut-pierced wound on the frontal surface of the chest was taken to “Erebuni” medical center where he died without regaining consciousness.

A criminal case was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code preliminary investigation of which was conducted in the RA IC Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department. In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions of great volume conducted in the framework of the criminal case circumstances significant for the case were found, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Yerevan, born in 1996.

Particularly, through preliminary investigation it was found that on September 3, 2017 the victim, 21 year-old young man and a number of other people took part in a wedding party. In the yard of the restaurant one of the participants made a remark on 21 year-old young man’s trousers which caused the latter’s discontent. After the party had been over at about 00:00 in the yard of the restaurant the young man, born in 1996, remembered about the remark made to him and during the argument over it he stabbed once S. Minasyan’s uncle Ye. Hayrapetyan inflicting light damage to health then escaped. Noticing what had happened S. Minasyan and some more men chased the 21 year-old man during which the latter stabbed S. Minasyan on the left part of the chest inflicting bodily injury incompatible with life.

On the base of the sufficient evidence obtained during pretrial proceeding charge was pressed against 21 year-old man according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation was completed and the criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to court.
