In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Gegharquniq Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee charge was pressed for 28 year-old young man’s murder in Sevan.  

On July 30, 2017 at about 19:00 on the 63d section of Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan road shots were fired. As a result, the resident of Ararat region, born in 1989, died of firearm injury he had sustained on his left temporal area.

In the result of necessary investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case initiated in the RA IC Gegharquniq Regional Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code a number of circumstances significant for the case, the motive were found, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is a resident of Sevan town E. Hovhannisyan, born in 1981.

Through preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that on July 30, 2017 at about 19:00 an argument on personal matters took place on one of the beaches of Sevan Lake among E. Hovhannisyan, his father and other persons, including 28 year-old young man. During the brawl E. Hovhannisyan’s father, born in 1957, fell to the ground – unconscious and was taken to hospital where his death was recorded. E. Hovhannisyan, learning the news of his father’s death, drove with his brother after the persons who had taken part in the argument and had left the beach. Then on the 63d section of Yerevan-Ijevan road, getting to the car where the 28 year-old young man was, fired a shot towards the latter’s head who died of the injury he had sustained.

Pursuant to initial conclusion of forensic expert the man, born in 1957, died of myocardial infarction. Injuries containing even light damage for his health were not found on his body.

On the base of sufficient evidence charge was pressed against E. Hovhannisyan according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. Motion was submitted to court to choose detention as a pretrial measure against him.
