Charge pressed for illegal procurement and keeping of weapon and ammunition
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department the resident of town Berd, Hrant Ananyan was charged with illegal procurement and keeping of weapon and ammunition.
Earlier it was informed that according to preliminary investigation H. Ananyan illegally procured and carried a homemade rifle like “PM” (Makarov) type, serving as a firearm, as well as combat bullets of 9 mm (9X18 PM) caliber of factory production provided for the rifles of “PM” and “APS” type, serving as ammunition, which were found with the latter on July 10, 2015 during the personal search conducted in Central Station of RA Police.
On the base of the obtained evidence on July 11 H. Ananyan was charged according to the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code. On the same day the investigator submitted a motion to the court to use detention as a pretrial measure against him. The motion was sufficed.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
