In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Armavir Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee charge was pressed against the resident of Armavir for taking obvious minor hostage threatening with a knife, murder attempt against two persons.

Necessary investigatory actions are ongoing in Armavir Regional Investigative Department to find all circumstances of the incident that took place on October 30 in «Manushak» kindergarten operating in Armavir. Taking public interest into consideration some information on circumstances found at this stage of preliminary investigation is presented.

Thus, pursuant to preliminary investigation data, on October 30, 2017 at about 16:00 the resident of Armavir went to «Manushak» kindergarten where his wife worked as a governess, demanded that she should come out reasoning that he wanted to speak to her. The woman refused to come out after which the man took out a knife and tried to take her out of the building by using violence – by dragging her.   

Through preliminary investigation sufficient data were obtained on the allegation that the man put the knife at woman's neck trying to stab, however the latter caught the blade after which kindergarten director came up to them. The person having committed the alleged crime stabbed the director. As a result, the latter sustained an injury on her neck and ear. Then the man tried to drag the woman to one of the bedrooms of the kindergarten. However, the relative, who had come to help, hit the man and the woman managed to escape sustaining bodily injuries. At about 16:30 the man took an obvious minor hostage who was in the kindergarten bedroom and to release the child he demanded to organize a meeting with his former wife. 
 

In the result of taken measures, at about 20:00 the man was neutralized and the child was released safely.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence the investigator made a decision to press charge against the man according to the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 and the Points 3 and 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 218 of RA Criminal Code. A motion was submitted to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
