Circumstances, motive of A. Khanamiryan’s murder committed in the center of Yerevan found; charge pressed
In the framework of the criminal case investigated on Arsen Khanamiryan’s murder in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee charge was pressed against former employee of taxi service V. Veranyan.
On June 1, 2016 a call was received from “Aramyants” medical center informing that Arsen Khanamiryan with cut-pierced wound on the left part of the chest was taken to medical center, he died in hospital.
A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.
In the result of urgent investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case circumstances, motive of A. Khanamiryan’s murder were found, the person having committed the apparent crime was identified.
According to preliminary investigation data, the victim and the person having committed the apparent crime had known each other since 2012 when the latter was employed at taxi service managed by A. Khanamiryan and they worked together for about 6 months. Later not friendly, tense relations related to personal matters were formed between them.
On June 1, 2016 at about 14:00 meeting at the junction of Nar-Dos and Vardanants Streets of Yerevan a row erupted between them during which V. Veranyan demanded clarifications on rumors about him. According to initial data, at first the latter hit him with a bludgeon then with a knife.
On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against V. Veranyan according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. The investigator submitted a motion to the court to use detention as a pretrial measure against him. The motion was sufficed. The knife which was the crime tool was confiscated.
Preliminary investigation of the criminal case is ongoing.
