In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee necessary measures are taken to identify those involved in violence used against minors on April 20 in Ayvazovski Street. 4 people were involved as a suspect.

On April 26, 2018 the article entitled «People in Civilian Clothes Beat Minors with Blackjack» inserted in «Hraparak.am» news site was received in Erebuni Division of the RA Police. The article informed that people in civilian clothes beat minor demonstrators with blackjacks in Ayvazovski Street of Erebuni administrative district.

On May 4 a criminal case was initiated in Erebuni Division of the RA Police according to the Article 118 of RA Criminal Code which was received in the proceeding of the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on May 5.

In the result of urgent investigatory and operative-searching measures taken within the criminal case a number of circumstances were found out, the people having committed the alleged crime were identified.

Particularly, through preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that the resident of Yerevan, born in 2001, taking part in the protest with his minor friends, on April 20, 2018 at about 13:00 blocked the carriageway of Ayvazovski Street of Yerevan together with other people. During these activities a row erupted between the minors and the driver of the car of “Toyota Corolla” make and its passengers who wanted to pass along the street during which the latters used violence against the minors, the driver of the car also hit the minor, born in 2001, with a blackjack. Within the criminal case the latter was found the injured party. A notification was sent to two more minors for interrogation but they have not appeared themselves yet.

On May 15 4 people – S. Hakobyan, S. Baghdasaryan, V. Mkhitaryan and G. Azaryan were involved as a suspect and signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against them.  

The blackjack which was the crime tool was found.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, measures are taken to provide the objective, complete and comprehensive investigation of circumstances of the case. On the base of the obtained evidence appropriate procedural decision will be made information about which will be provided.
