A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on causing 34 year-old woman's death by negligence by inflicting her heavy bodily injury.

On August 3, 2017 at 06:35 a call was received from ambulance service informing that M. Aghajanyan, born in 1983, died in one of the flats of Tumanyan Street, Yerevan.

The investigatory-operative group immediately left for the site where the 34 year-old woman's body with traces of violence was found.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Point 14 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code. Necessary investigatory actions were conducted to find the circumstances of sustaining bodily injuries by the woman, several persons were interrogated. As a result, actual data were obtained on the allegation that M. Aghajanyan had periodically been subjected to violence by her husband. Forensic medical examination was commissioned to find the cause of the woman's death.

34 year-old woman's husband was arrested on suspicion of using violence.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation of the case.
