Criminal Case Initiated on Hooliganism Committed with Weapon in “Katalina” Night Club
Investigation is conducted in Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find out all circumstances of hooliganism committed with a weapon in “Katalina” night club.
In the result of large-scale investigative and other procedural actions as well as operative measures taken jointly with the employees of the RA Police a number of circumstances significant for the case were found out.
Particularly, on March 21, 2021 the resident of Charentsavan visited the night club “Katalina” with his friends where at about 05:00 a row erupted between him and the director of the club, the latter’s relative intervened in the row. Pursuant to investigation data, the young man wanted to stab the director but he was beaten by the latter and his relative.
The resident of Charentsavan, not bearing what had happened, on March 24, 2021 at about 22:30 with about 30 friends in order to emphasize the privilege of his own self, obviously ignoring the rules of behavior and human coexistence, armed with a hunting gun, pistol and wooden blackjacks entered the mentioned night club and disturbing the normal work of the club, showing obvious disrespect towards the staff and the visitors of the club, broke and damaged the doors of the club, fired shots towards the walls with the hunting gun and gas pistol, used violence against one of the visitors of the club beating him and causing bodily injuries.
A criminal case was initiated in Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 4 of the Article 258 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.
During preliminary investigation necessary investigative actions were conducted, among them inspection of the scene during which traces of shots were found on the club walls, samples were taken, forensic examinations were commissioned, a number of people were questioned, signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against 4 of those involved in the incident.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
