A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder committed today at Vernissage.

At about 13:45 a call was received in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts informing that shots were fired at Vernissage, Yerevan, there are injured. The investigatory-operative group immediately left for the site.

It was found that at about 13:30 shots were fired near the hotel located at 48, Hanrapetutyan Street . As a result, one person -Gagik Mosinyan, born in 1974, died of the firearm injuries he had sustained, one more person – Vahagn Abgaryan, born in 1978, was taken to medical center with firearm injuries.

Through inspection of the site a gun of “AK 74” model, rifle of “Makarov”, capsules were found.

A criminal case was initiated according to the Point 6 of the Part 2 of the Article 104, the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code preliminary investigation of which was tasked to General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee. An investigatory group was created.

Working hypotheses have been worked out and necessary investigatory and operative-searching measures of great volume are conducted to verify them, the videos captured by the cameras located at the site have been inspected. Some circumstances have already been found, however, out of interests of investigation other information shall not be published at the moment.
