Criminal Case on Apparent Squandering in Particularly Large Amount and Exceeding Official Authorities by Former RA Minister of Culture Sent to Prosecution Office with Motion to be Sent to Special Investigatory Service
In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions of great volume conducted within the criminal case initiated in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 179 (squandering) and the Part 1 of the Article 309 (exceeding official authorities) of RA Criminal Code it was found out that under the pretext of covering the expenses of the RA delegation's participation in Cannes Film Festival in 2017, the former RA Minister of Culture demanded that the producer of the film “My grandmother's hair” should pay money from the amount planned for the shooting of the mentioned film and part by part received 6.800.000 AMD.
The criminal case was sent to the RA Prosecution Office with a motion to send it to the RA Special Investigatory Service according to investigatory subordination.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
