Preliminary investigation on the part separated from the criminal proceeding initiated on illegal turnover of narcotic drugs in particularly large amount by a number of people was completed in the Division of Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

It was earlier informed that on March 14, 2023 at 23:30 in Nalbandyan Street of Yerevan 39 year-old resident of Yerevan was arrested on suspicion of illegal procurement, keeping and selling of narcotic drugs. Through his personal search 3 packages, 1.065 grams of “Methamphetamine”, drugs of "herbal mixture containing tetrahydrocannabinols" type in small amount, weighing 0.6 grams in total, as well as a hitter-breaker castet without a blade were found.

In the result of large scale procedural and evidentiary actions, as well as operative-intelligence measures circumstances significant for the proceeding were found out, data were obtained on two more persons involved in criminal chain engaged in selling narcotic drugs.

Some hours later two men, residents of Yerevan and Armavir, born in 1984, were found in the hotel located in Acharyan Street, Yerevan and were arrested on the base of reasonable suspicion of illegal procurement, keeping and selling of narcotic drugs.

Through investigation it was found out that the latters, with prior agreement, with the intent to sell, illegally procured and kept narcotic drugs in particularly large amount, 15,8166 grams of “Methamphetamine”, in large amount, 0.735 grams of “Acetylated opium” and in significant amount, 11,97 grams of “Marijuana” which were found in the result of search conducted in the above-mentioned hotel.

Besides, through investigation it was also found out that the resident of Armavir, born in 1984, with the intent to sell, illegally procured and kept narcotic drugs in significant amount, 0,125 grams of “Methamphetamine” and in small amount, 0,68 grams of “Marijuana” which were found through the latter’s personal search.

It was found out that the hotel room rented by the mentioned persons was used for a certain period of time as an area for preparing and packaging drugs for sale.

On the base of the obtained factual data charge was pressed against 39 year-old man according to the Part 1 of the Article 393, the Point 3 of the Part 2 of the Article 393 and the Part 1 of the Article 334 of RA Criminal Code. Charge was pressed against the resident of Yerevan, born in 1984, according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 393 of RA Criminal Code and against the resident of Armavir, born in 1984, according to the Point 2 of the Part 3 of the Article 393 and the Part 1 of the Article 393 of RA Criminal Code.

Detention was used as a pretrial measure against the mentioned three defendants.

Preliminary investigation on their part was completed, the materials of the proceeding with the bill of indictment were sent to court.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing to find out the source of illegal procurement of narcotic drugs, the whole frame of those involved in the chain.
