A report was received in the Investigative Division of Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee informing that stabbing had been committed at the crossroad of Rubinyants and P. Sevak Streets of Yerevan and several persons had been taken to medical centers.

“Kanaker-Zeytun” and “Izmirlyan” medical centers informed that 18, 19, 20 and 36 year-old residents of Yerevan with “cut-pierced wounds” had been taken to them.

On the same day a criminal proceeding was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 155, the Point 1 of the Part 1 of the Article 166, the Point 1 of the Part 1 of the Article 166, the Point 2 of the Part 2 of the Article 166 and the Part 3 of the Article 297 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of urgent investigative and procedural actions as well as operative-intelligence measures it was found out that on January 6, 2023 at about 16:15 at the adjoining part of the crossroad of Rubinyants and P. Sevak Streets a group of unidentified men started an argument with the above-mentioned 4 young men.

A disrespectful attitude towards society was shown which was manifested by profanity and obscene expressions, a blatant disregard for the rules of coexistence, disturbing the peace of people and obstructing the normal flow of traffic.

During the argument bodily injuries were caused to the above-mentioned persons, one of them died.

An investigative group was formed for conduction of preliminary investigation. Inspection of the scene was conducted, the clothes of the victims were confiscated.

Decisions were made to commission forensic medical expertise and forensic medical expertise of the body.

The Police were assigned to take relevant measures to find out all circumstances of the case, to identify the person (persons) having committed the alleged crime and find them.

A number of people were questioned, the videos captured by the cameras at the scene and the adjacent areas were confiscated.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
