Circumstances of 75 year-old woman’s murder committed in one of the houses on Kotayk Street of Abovyan town on December 12, 2022 are being found out.

On December 12, 2022 at 09:10 a call was received from the ambulance of “Abovyan’s medical center” CJSC in Kotayk Police Division informing that murder had been committed in one of the houses of Kotayk Street of Abovyan town.

In the result of urgent investigative and procedural actions, operative – intelligence measures data were obtained that the murder by strangling in the bedroom might have been committed by 25 year-old resident of Abovyan town.

On December 12, 2022 a criminal proceeding was initiated in Abovyan Investigative Division of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 155 of RA Criminal Code.

A decision was made to form an investigative group, forensic expertise were commissioned. Relevant assignments were given to the inquest body.

On December 12, 2022 25 year-old resident of Abovyan town was arrested on the base of reasonable suspicion on the above-mentioned crime committal and was brought to Abovyan Investigative Division.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, necessary measures are taken to find out all circumstances of the case.
