Criminal Proceeding Initiated on Murder of Serviceman of RA Armed Forces in Combat Position
On April 23 a report was received from the unit N of the RA Ministry of Defense informing that on the same day at about 11:50 as a result of the firearm shot fired from the combat position of the rival to the combat position under protection of the unit N of the RA Ministry of Defense the serviceman of the mentioned unit Artyom Arsen Poghosyan received an injury on the neck. On the way to hospital the serviceman died of the firearm injury he had received.
Considering that the data received by the report refer to willful deprivation of life of the serviceman of the RA armed forces committed by a serviceman of Azerbaijan’s armed forces out of motives of national, race, ethnic hate, intolerance and hostility, a criminal proceeding was initiated in the Fifth Garrison Investigative Unit of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Point 15 of the Part 2 of the Article 155 of RA Criminal Code.
Urgent evidential and procedural actions are conducted to find out circumstances of the case and to give legal assessment to the actions of Azerbaijan’s armed forces.
