Investigative and procedural actions are conducted within the criminal proceeding initiated on December 1, 2022 in Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 3 of the Article 341 of the RA Criminal Code to find out circumstances of the plane crash in Kotayk province.

Pursuant to initial data, on December 1, 2022 at about 14:00 the plane of “B-55” model fell in the area of the sand mine located in Jraber village of Kotayk province and caught fire. As a result, two persons in the plane died at the scene.

During preliminary investigation of the criminal proceeding inspection of the scene was conducted during which crashed, burnt light-engine plane, two burnt bodies and other items were found. Forensic medical expertise of the bodies was commissioned, an investigative group was created.

An information request on the plane type, affiliation, circumstances of entering the Republic of Armenia, settling in the Republic of Armenia, identities of the pilot, passenger and a number of other data was submitted to the Civil Aviation Committee.

Necessary measures will be taken pursuant to the established procedure to find out the causes of the crash, the circumstances related to it.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
