Damage in the Amount of more than 53 Million AMD Swindled as a Result of Apparent Corruption-Related Abuses Committed in «National Institute of Metrology» CJSC Recovered
Within the criminal case initiated on August 11, 2020 in the Investigative Department of the RA NSS according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 179 and the Part 2 of the Article 325 of RA Criminal Code, the further investigation of which was conducted in the Division of Investigation of Grave Crimes of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, a number of significant circumstances of apparent official crimes committed in «National Institute of Metrology» CJSC were found out.
It was particularly found out that between 2010 and 2018 in the mentioned CJSC, the persons who had successively held the management position of «National Institute of Metrology» CJSC, being endowed with organizational-managerial, administrative-economic powers, abusing their official position, with prior agreement with a group of people, appointed 28 people, in total, to various posts.
Being firmly aware of the fact that the latters did not attend work and did not fulfill their work duties, they prepared, approved and certified official documents with fake working time calculation bulletins, other documents that were the basis for salary payment in which they involved obviously false information about attending work, fulfilling their functional duties by the mentioned employees. Then circulating the documents with fake content they submitted them for payment.
As a result, money in particularly large amount - 53.427.789 AMD, in total, was unreasonably deducted from the state budget in the name of the mentioned employees and was swindled by embezzlement.
As a result of the preliminary investigation the above-mentioned damage has been completely recovered. Within the framework of the criminal proceeding criminal prosecution was initiated against two persons.
