Employee Transported Narcotic Drug to Penitentiary to Give to Convicts

In the result of large-scale procedural and evidentiary actions conducted, as well as operative-intelligence measures taken jointly by the employees of the RA Penitentiary Service within the criminal proceeding investigated in the Department for Investigation of Crimes on Human Trafficking, against Sexual Immunity of Juveniles and Illegal Turnover of Drugs of General Department for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the RA Investigative Committee, it was found out that аn employee of the Penitentiary Service of the RA Ministry of Justice illegally transported 2.16 grams of "Marijuana" and 0.47 grams of "Hashish Oil" drugs, packaged in 3 separate transparent polyethylene packages, to the Penitentiary with the intention of giving them to several convicts.  During the personal search conducted on the same day, the aforementioned drugs, wrapped in adhesive tape, were found in the employee’s trouser pocket.

Public criminal prosecution was initiated against E.N. according to the Point 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 393 and the Part 1 of the Article 441 of RA Criminal Code.

Home detention and absence ban were applied as a pretrial measure against him.

The criminal proceeding with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
