Ex-headmaster of Byureghavan boarding school charged on 2 counts, imprisonment chosen as a pretrial measure against her

In the framework of the criminal case being investigated in General Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of RA Investigative Committee initiated on squandering and embezzlement through abusing authorities committed by the officials of “Boarding facility for Child Care and Protection of Byureghavan” SNCO, charge was pressed against the ex-headmaster of the facility Gayane Margaryan. Imprisonment was chosen as a pretrial measure against her.
 

During preliminary investigation it was found that G. Margaryan, being the headmaster of “Boarding facility for Child Care and Protection of Byureghavan” SNCO, with the intention of embezzlement, from 2007 to 2014 with the help of the staff inspector of the organization A. Hovsepyan admitted 28 employees to work who did not implement actual work.
 

As a result, significant amount of 46.535.970 AMD, including money for annual and physiological holidays has been withdrawn and squandered from money transferred to SNCO from state budget in the name of the above-mentioned people. 
 

Besides, from 2004 to 2014 G. Margaryan, abusing her authorities, with the help of the chief accountant P. Martirosyan and the staff inspector of the organization A. Hovsepyan calculated the money withdrawn in the name of 4 employees who actually did not work in SNCO and gave it to their relatives who worked in SNCO and other employees of SNCO as an additional payment squandering significant amount of 7.747.358 AMD entrusted to her.
 

On the base of the obtained evidence on 27 November, 2014 Gayane Margaryan was charged according to the Point 1 of the Part 3 of the Article 179 of RA Criminal Code – for squandering money in significant amount.
 

On the same day the investigator submitted a motion to the Court of First Instance of Kentron and Norq-Marash administrative districts on choosing imprisonment as a pretrial measure against G. Margaryan.
 

Preliminary investigation is under way.
