In the First Semester of 2024 1032 Criminal Proceedings on Crimes Committed against Minors Investigated in the RA Investigative Committee
Summary and analytical work of various semi-annual indicators is ongoing in the RA Investigative Committee and in another publication prepared within its framework the statistics of criminal proceedings investigated on crimes committed against minors in the first semester of 2024 is presented.
According to it, within the specified period 1032 criminal proceedings on crimes committed against minors were investigated in the proceeding of the Committee according to the relevant articles of the RA Criminal Code.
64 of the mentioned criminal proceedings were completed with the bill of indictment and on 67 persons were sent to court, 1 criminal proceeding on 1 person was completed with a final act and sent to court. 240 criminal proceedings were terminated 202 of which on rehabilitative, 38 – on non-rehabilitative base, within 238 criminal proceedings procedural and evidentiary actions were completed, 5 criminal proceedings were sent according to subordination, 29 were combined, 455 were transferred to the second semester of 2024.
Particularly,
5 out of 64 proceedings sent to court were investigated on infliction of heavy damage to health,
1 – on infliction of damage of medium gravity to health,
1 – on kidnapping,
22 – on physical impact,
16- against sexual freedom,
1 – prevention of visitation between a parent or other close relative and a child,
1 – on avoiding paying alimony,
17 – on other crimes.
Out of 67 defendants within the proceedings sent to court 18 were family members of the minor victim, 1 was guardian, trustee, 4 – employees of an educational institution, 44 other persons.
Out of 78 victims within the proceedings sent to court 27 were 12 years old, 16 – between 12 and 14, 16 – between 14 and 16, 19 – between 16 and 18.
