Information about Results of Investigation of Criminal Cases on Crimes Committed against Children Investigated in 2019 in Proceeding of RA Investigative Committee
In 2019 206 materials on crimes committed against children were prepared by the subdivisions of the RA Investigative Committee.
In the mentioned period 360 criminal cases on crimes committed against children were in the proceeding of the Investigative Committee 10 of which were in the proceeding of General Military Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee. Moreover, 294 of the mentioned 360 criminal cases were received in the Committee’s proceeding in 2019 and 66 were criminal cases in the proceeding incomplete at the beginning of the year. In the mentioned period 203 criminal cases were initiated (in the annual report of 2018 the number of incomplete criminal cases was 60 and in the semi-annual report it was 66. It was conditioned by the circumstance that during preliminary investigation it was found out that some crimes were committed against children which at the end of 2018 - while summing up the year had not yet been known).
In the mentioned period 5 of the above-mentioned 360 criminal cases on crimes against children referred to murder envisaged by the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code, 3 – to causing death by negligence envisaged by the Article 109 of RA Criminal Code, 5 – to causing to commit suicide envisaged by the Article 110 of RA Criminal Code, 10 – to infliction of willful heavy bodily damage to health envisaged by the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code, 2 – to infliction of willful medium-gravity damage to health envisaged by the Article 113 of RA Criminal Code,
7 - to infliction of willful light damage to health envisaged by the Article 117 of RA Criminal Code, 54 – to battery envisaged by the Article 118 of RA Criminal Code, 5 – to willfully causing strong physical pain or mental sufferance envisaged by the Article 119 of RA Criminal Code, 1 – to inflicting grave damage by negligence envisaged by the Article 120 of RA Criminal Code, 7 – to kidnapping envisaged by the Article 131 of RA Criminal Code, 2 – to illegal deprivation of freedom envisaged by the Article 133 of RA Criminal Code, 5 – to threat to murder, to inflict heavy damage to health or to destroy property envisaged by the Article 137 of RA Criminal Code, 6 – to rape envisaged by the Article 138 of RA Criminal Code,
15 – to violent sexual actions envisaged by the Article 139 of RA Criminal Code, 1 – to forcing to sexual intercourse or other sexual actions envisaged by the Article 140 of RA Criminal Code, 44 – to sexual intercourse or other sexual acts with a person under 16 envisaged by the Article 141 of RA Criminal Code, 25 – to lecherous acts envisaged by the Article 142 of RA Criminal Code, 1 – to involving a minor into committal of crime envisaged by the Article 165 of RA Criminal Code, 1 – to involving a child into regular use of alcoholic drinks, strong or other narcotic drugs not for medical purposes, vagrancy or beggary envisaged by the Article 166.1 of RA Criminal Code, 5 – to illegal separation of the child from the parents or substitution of the child envisaged by the Article 167 of RA Criminal Code, 13 – to preventing a parent or other close relative from having a child visit envisaged by the Article 167.1 of RA Criminal Code, 2 - reporting false information to Civil Status Act Registration Bodies envisaged by the Article 169.1 of RA Criminal Code, 3 – to failure to fulfill the duty of rearing the child envisaged by the Article 170 of RA Criminal Code, 14 – to willful evasion from supporting one’s child by the parent envisaged by the Article 173 of RA Criminal Code, 3 – destruction or damage inflicted to property by negligence envisaged by the Article 186 of RA Criminal Code and 121 – to other crimes.
Within the above-mentioned criminal cases 187 persons were involved as a defendant, by the way 7 persons were from 14 to 16 years old, 2 – from 16 to 18, 110 – from 18 to 35, 68 – over 35.
26 of 187 persons had higher education, 143 – secondary, 8 – vocational, 10 – primary education.
12 of the mentioned persons have previously been convicted.
Within the criminal cases there were 336 affected 169 of which were up to 12 years old, 61 – from 12 to 14 years old, 63 – from 14 to 16 years old, 43 – from 16 to 18 years old.
In 2019 224 criminal cases on crimes committed against children were completed 7 of which were in General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
Proceeding of 133 criminal cases was terminated, 86 of which were on acquittal, 47 – on non-acquittal base.
88 criminal cases on 89 persons were sent to court with the bill of indictment (4 criminal cases on 4 persons – in General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee).
3 motions on using medical coercive measures were submitted to court.
Proceeding of 42 criminal cases was suspended 5 of which based on the circumstance that the person was under persecution, 37 – on other bases.
In the mentioned period 17 criminal cases were joint and 6 were sent according to investigatory subordination.
71 criminal cases, in total, together with the cases passed from 2019 are incomplete (2 – in General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee).
