Investigation Conducted to Find out Circumstances of Inflicting Bodily Damage to Citizen during Protest
On December 9, 2020 a call was received from a citizen in Marash Unit of Central Division of the RA Police informing that on the same day at about 14:30 at the area adjoining Myasnikyan avenue of Yerevan the driver of the car of “Ford” make willfully drove the car towards people carrying out protest in the same area. As a result, a citizen sustained fracture of the left leg.
In the result of measures taken the driver of the mentioned car was identified; he is a resident of Yerevan, born in 1985.
Pursuant to certificate given by the doctor bodily injury “close fracture of the lower third of both bones of the left leg, with the movement of bone fragments” was diagnosed at him.
On December 11, 2020 a criminal case was initiated in Marash Unit of Central Division of the RA Police according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 (infliction of willful heavy damage to health) of RA Criminal Code which was received in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on December 16 and was received in proceeding.
Forensic medical examination was commissioned, investigatory and other procedural actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the case.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
