Major-general Melsik Chilingaryan, Colonels Armen Margaryan and Mher Papyan arrested
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Department of Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of General Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee three persons – Major-general Melsik Chilingaryan, Colonels Armen Margaryan and Mher Papyan were arrested on May 30.
Former head of Armaments Department of the RA Armed Forces, Major-general Melsik Chilingaryan, former chief of car service of Armaments Department of the RA Armed Forces, Colonel Armen Margaryan are suspected of committing a committal envisaged by the Part 2 of the Article 375 of RA Criminal Code; that is abuse of power, transgression of authority or administrative dereliction which caused grave consequences.
In the framework of another criminal case the head of Unit of Chemical, Engineering and Intelligence Provision of Logistics Department of the RA Ministry of Defense Mher Papyan is suspected of committing a committal envisaged by the Part 2 of the Article 376 of RA Criminal Code; that is negligent attitude to service which caused grave consequences.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Forensic merchandising examinations were commissioned, necessary investigatory actions are taken to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation of criminal cases.
Additional information on procedural decisions made on the base of the obtained evidence, on criminal and legal assessments will be provided.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
