In the result of investigatory actions of great volume conducted in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee murder attempt committed against Edmon Harutyunyan in Vanadzor was revealed – a number of circumstances were found, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified. Search was declared against the latter.

On August 14, 2017 a call was received from “Vanadzor Medical Center” CJSC informing that on the same day at 21:00 Edmon Harutyunyan with a firearm injury on the abdomen was taken to medical center.

In the result of necessary investigatory actions conducted in the framework of the criminal case initiated in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee it was found that E. Harutyunyan had sustained the firearm injury at the area neighboring the house 64, Yerevanyan Street, Vanadzor town. Through inspection of the site 2 capsules, 1 ball and bloodlike traces were found.

During preliminary investigation a decision was made to find Edmon Harutyunyan an injured party, the clothes he was wearing at the moment of being accepted in “Vanadzor Medical Center” CJSC were confiscated, forensic medical examination was commissioned.

According to data obtained through investigation shots were fired towards E. Harutyunyan in front of the house 64 from a car of “Opel” make; the person having committed the alleged crime was sitting on the seat next to the driver. The latter was identified; he was a resident of Vanadzor, born in 1982.

On the base of the obtained evidence the investigator made a decision to involve the 35 year-old resident of Vanadzor A. Shahinyan as a defendant. Detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him and search was declared. The police were tasked to take measures to find the wanted and bring him to the investigative body.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary measures are taken to identify others possibly involved in the incident.
