A criminal case was initiated in Abovyan Investigative Division of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on murder of 64 year-old resident of Jrvezh village. The latter’s son was arrested on suspicion of committing murder.

On March 10, 2019 at 13:25 a report was received in Kotayk Division of the Police from the fifth ambulance substation informing that a citizen called and told that in one of the houses of Jrvezh village of Kotayk province the son killed his father, born in 1955.

The investigatory group of Abovyan Investigative Division of Kotayk Regional Investigative Department left for the scene immediately.

Pursuant to initial data, on March 10, 2019 at about 12:30 the man, born in 1983, in the bedroom of one of the houses of Jrvezh village of Kotayk province stabbed the 64 year-old man on different parts of his body. The latter died of bodily injuries he had sustained.

On March 10, 2019 a criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Abovyan Investigative Division according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code. The man, born in 1955, was found the victim.

In the result of investigatory actions conducted within the criminal case a number of circumstances of murder, the motive were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is the victim's son, born in 1983.  

During preliminary investigation of the criminal case a number of investigatory and procedural actions were conducted.

Particularly, inspection of the scene was conducted during which blood samples, a wooden handle of a knife, a knife blade, a knife, one more knife on the bedroom table were taken. The clothes the victim was wearing at the moment of the incident were confiscated from «Abovyan» medical center. Forensic medical examination of the body, forensic chemical and forensic medical examinations were commissioned, a number of people were questioned.

The man, born in 1983, was arrested on suspicion of committing murder and questioned.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of circumstances of the case.
