In the result of urgent measures taken in the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee the case of murder of the citizen of the Republic of India was disclosed.

On August 28, 2022 at 09:40 a call was received informing that there was a man’s body at the area of the stone workshop located on Davit Bek Street of Yerevan.

The investigative-operative group, which had immediately left for the scene, found the bloody body of 27 year-old citizen of India on the sofa at the mentioned address with injuries on the head and face as well as an iron bar with blood-like traces.

A criminal proceeding was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 155 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of investigative and procedural actions as well as operative-intelligence measures a number of circumstances among them the motive were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is 45 year-old citizen of the Republic of India.

Particularly, through investigation data were obtained on the allegation that on August 28, 2022 at about 02:00 an argument on personal matters took place between the victim and his 45 year-old acquaintance at 54/11 Davit Bek, Yerevan during which the latter hit 27 year-old young man with a metal bar for several times on his face. As a result, the latter died of the injuries he had sustained.

45 year-old citizen of India was arrested on the base of reasonable suspicion on crime committal and gave self-incriminating testimony. Forensic medical and forensic biological examinations were commissioned.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
