Murder in Ararat; One Person Arrested

On April 12, 2020 at 23:05 a call was received from “Ararat Medical Center” CJSC informing that 25 year-old resident of Taperakan village of Ararat province with “cut-pierced penetrating wound on the left part of the chest” was taken to them.

A criminal case was initiated in Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 (willful infliction of heavy bodily damage) and the Part 1 of the Article 235 (illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive devices) of RA Criminal Code.

On the same day at 23:50 another call was received informing that 43 year-old man with “firearm injury on the upper third part of the left thigh, the upper third part of the leg” was taken to “Masis Medical Center” form an apartment in Artashat by an ambulance group. He died in the ambulance car.

A criminal case was initiated in Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 (murder) and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.

Through investigation it was found out that the mentioned persons had sustained the bodily injuries during the argument that took place in front of the house of culture of Taperakan village. Thus, a decision was made to join the criminal cases and conduct investigation in one proceeding.

Through inspection of the scene in the front section of the culture house of Taperakan 6 fired shots of 9 mm caliber, a bullet ball, a plastic handle of gun, blood-like traces were found.

In the result of investigatory actions of great volume and operative-intelligence measures the resident of Taperakan was arrested on suspicion of illegal deprivation of 43 year-old man’s life with a firearm.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
