In the result of large-scale investigative and other procedural actions, as well as joint measures taken with the employees of the RA Police murder committed the day before in one of the apartments of the house located in Yeghbayrutyun Street was disclosed.

Pursuant to initial information, on February 11, 2022 at 18:35 a call was received from ambulance center informing that a man’s body with a pierced wound on the chest was found in one of the apartments of the house located in Yeghbayrutyun Street.

The investigative-operative group immediately left for the scene and found the body of the resident of the mentioned apartment, born in 1962, on the sofa located in the living-room.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of urgent measures taken during preliminary investigation a young man, born in 1999, was arrested on suspicion of committing murder and was questioned.

Forensic trace examination and forensic medical examination of the body were commissioned, the clothes the victim and the suspect were wearing at the moment of the accident were confiscated, samples were taken.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Measures are taken to find out all circumstances, to provide the objective and comprehensive investigation of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
