Murder in Yerevan; suspect arrested

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on Karine Mansuryan’s murder, infliction of heavy bodily damage to the latter’s husband and daughter committed on July 8.
 

According to initial investigation data on July 8, 2016 at about 04:00 V. Martirosyan, born in 1985, argued with residents of Yerevan – his ex-wife Taguhi Mansuryan and her parents Vachagan and Karine Mansuryans on the stairway of the house 7, Soghomon Taronts lane, Yerevan during which he stabbed them with an axe for numerous times on different parts of their bodies. Karine Mansuryan, born in 1952, died of injuries she had sustained, Taguhi and Vachagan Mansuryans were taken to medical center with different injuries.  
 

On July 8, 2016 a criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 and the Point 1 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code. An investigatory group was formed.
 

Through the inspection of the site bloodlike traces, an axe with bloodlike traces, an empty bottle of beer and other items were found and confiscated.  
 

Forensic medical, forensic biological, forensic chemical, forensic trace and forensic genetic examinations were commissioned to find circumstances significant for the criminal case.
 

V. Martirosyan was arrested on suspicion of committing the mentioned crime.
 

Urgent investigatory actions are conducted to find all circumstances of the case.
