A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee on 61 year-old man's murder in Yerevan; the latter's brother was arrested.

On May 9, 2018 at about 23:30 the body of A. Asoyan, born in 1956, with numerous cut-lacerated injuries on the head and lower limbs was found in the park near one of the houses at the area of Amaranotsain 1t, Yerevan.

A criminal case was initiated in the RA IC Investigative Division of Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of necessary measures a number of circumstances significant for the criminal case were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is the victim's brother, born in 1966. Actual data were obtained on the allegation that bodily injuries incompatible with life had been inflicted to the victim with an axe.

The man, born in 1966, was arrested. The axe which was the crime tool was found.

Medical forensic examination of the body was commissioned.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, measures are taken to provide the objective, complete and comprehensive investigation of circumstances of the case.
